Reliable electronics repair requires structured electrical measurements rather than guesswork. All equipment brought to ACJ Electronics undergoes standard diagnostic bench protocols before any soldering or rework occurs.
- Unpowered diode mode isolation: Before connecting external power, we test main power rails with a digital multimeter in diode mode against ground. This checks for direct short circuits and protects fragile processor silicon from further damage.
- DC current injection: When a power rail shows shorted impedance, we apply current-limited low voltage to detect thermal hotspots using localized alcohol evaporation or thermal imaging.
- Stereoscopic inspection: Circuit boards undergo optical examination under stereoscopic magnification to identify cracked solder joints, lifted PCB traces, corrosion bridges, or heat-discolored passives.
- Electrostatic discharge (ESD) control: Sensitive components are handled on grounded dissipative mats with wrist straps following IEC 61340 standards to prevent gate oxide punch-through.
